Maj. Jason Logsdon of the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections informed ESPN that Scottie Scheffler released from custody at 8:40 a.m. Eastern Time on Friday. While, Scheffler released without having to post bail.

Following his release, Scheffler swiftly made his way to Valhalla Golf Club, arriving less than an hour before his scheduled tee-off time of 10:08 a.m. Eastern Time. The expedited release allowed Scheffler to fulfill his commitment to participate in the PGA Championship, albeit under the shadow of the recent legal incident.

In a statement issued this morning, Scottie Scheffler addressed the circumstances surrounding his recent arrest(Scheffler arrested). He explained that he was following the directions given by police officers at the time. Scheffler described the situation as chaotic, acknowledging the understandable turmoil following the tragic accident earlier that day.

After a brief pause of about 20 to 30 seconds, Scheffler rolled down his car window to engage in a conversation with the officer, as reported by Jeff Darlington.

According to Darlington’s account, the situation escalated when the officer grabbed Scheffler’s arm in an attempt to remove him from the vehicle. Subsequently, the officer reached inside the car to open the door. Once Scheffler pulled out of the vehicle, he pressed against the car and subsequently handcuffed by the officer.

As the events unfolded, Jeff Darlington, an ESPN reporter, found himself at the entrance of Valhalla Golf Club where Scottie Scheffler detained. Darlington recounted that Scheffler, in the midst of the situation, turned to him and made a plea, asking, “Can you help?


However, Darlington’s attempt to intervene swiftly halted when an officer instructed him to step back. Which emphasizing the need for onlookers to maintain distance from the unfolding scene.

The tension at the scene escalated further when an officer, later identified as Detective Bryan Gillis in the arrest(Scheffler arrested) report, directed Jeff Darlington to step aside. Which emphasizing the urgency of the situation. “You need to get out of the way,” the officer firmly instructed Darlington. “Right now, he’s going to jail, and there’s nothing you can do about it.”

Speaking outside the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections, attorney Steven Romines addressed the situation.
