QUARTER Final Predictions EURO 2024: Who will win and reach the semi-finals?

Today I will be giving you my quarter final predictions Euro 2024. Definitely on paper, these matchups are a lot tougher to predict than the Round of 16. I’ll reflect briefly on how accurate my Round of 16 predictions were later in this blog.

Anyway, let’s get into it, starting off with a banger – Germany vs Spain. Out of all the favorites in this competition, these two sides have been playing the best. Spain topped their group flawlessly, navigating one of the toughest groups, while Germany showed impressive form, albeit with a draw against Switzerland.

Germany’s match against Denmark was contentious, with a narrow offside call and a penalty decision playing pivotal roles. Despite this, Germany showcased their strengths, particularly with Rüdiger’s standout performance.

Spain, on the other hand, displayed resilience in their Round of 16 comeback against Georgia, with goals from Williams and Ruiz standing out.

This matchup is incredibly difficult to predict, but based on current form, I lean towards Germany edging it 2-1. Moving on to Portugal vs France – a matchup many expected in the final before the tournament.

Both teams have underwhelmed in this tournament compared to expectations. France notably struggled to score from open play, relying on own goals and penalties to progress. Portugal, led by Ronaldo, has also had a subdued campaign, despite scraping through against Slovenia in a tense penalty shootout.

Historically, these teams have produced tight encounters, and while France seems slightly more composed, I predict a 1-0 victory for them. England vs Switzerland is another intriguing clash. England’s lackluster group stage performances have raised questions, while Switzerland impressed by defeating Italy convincingly in the Round of 16.

Despite England’s shortcomings, I see them narrowly overcoming Switzerland 2-1, potentially in extra time, banking on Southgate’s tactical adjustments. Lastly, Netherlands vs Turkey promises excitement.

The Netherlands displayed dominance against Romania, while Turkey stunned Austria with their attacking prowess. This match could go either way, but I’m leaning towards a 3-2 victory for the Netherlands, acknowledging Turkey’s unpredictability.
