WNBA Draft 2024: Caitlin Clark Joins Indiana, Angel Reese to Chicago

In the 2024 WNBA Draft, the Indiana Fever chose University of Iowa star Caitlin Clark as the top overall pick. Clark, known for her transformative impact on the game, made a grand entrance in a stylish Prada outfit. Stanford Cameron Brink was select second by the Los Angeles Sparks. Overcome with emotion, Brink thanked her family and friends, including her godmother Sonya Curry, mother of NBA star Steph Curry. She acknowledged the support that helped her reach this milestone.

South Carolina Kamilla Cardoso, a 6-foot-7 post player, went third to the Chicago Sky. The Sparks picked Tennessee Rickea Jackson 4th, the Dallas Wings selected Ohio State Jacy Sheldon 5th. Moreover, the Washington Mystics chose Connecticut Aaliyah Edwards sixth.

LSU’s Angel Reese, another standout player, was the seventh pick by the Chicago Sky, where she’ll join Cardoso. Reese, visibly emotional, expressed her gratitude to her family for their support.

Utah’s Alissa Pili, representing her Samoan and Alaskan heritage, was pick 8th by the Minnesota Lynx. She expressed her hope to inspire indigenous and Polynesian girls through her success.
