WNBA Draft 2024: Caitlin Clark Joins Indiana, Angel Reese to Chicago
In the 2024 WNBA Draft, the Indiana Fever chose University of Iowa star Caitlin Clark as the top overall pick. Clark, known for her transformative impact on the game, made a grand entrance in a stylish Prada outfit. She shared her excitement with SG and the audience, emphasizing the confidence her parents instilled in her from a young age.
Stanford Cameron Brink was select second by the Los Angeles Sparks. Overcome with emotion, Brink thanked her family and friends, including her godmother Sonya Curry, mother of NBA star Steph Curry. She acknowledged the support that helped her reach this milestone.

South Carolina Kamilla Cardoso, a 6-foot-7 post player, went third to the Chicago Sky. The Sparks picked Tennessee Rickea Jackson 4th, the Dallas Wings selected Ohio State Jacy Sheldon 5th. Moreover, the Washington Mystics chose Connecticut Aaliyah Edwards sixth.
LSU’s Angel Reese, another standout player, was the seventh pick by the Chicago Sky, where she’ll join Cardoso. Reese, visibly emotional, expressed her gratitude to her family for their support.
Utah’s Alissa Pili, representing her Samoan and Alaskan heritage, was pick 8th by the Minnesota Lynx. She expressed her hope to inspire indigenous and Polynesian girls through her success.
French players Carla Leite and Leila Lacan were select 9th and 10th, respectively. However, by the Dallas Wings and the Connecticut Sun. The New York Liberty picked Marquesha Davis from Mississippi at eleventh, and the Atlanta Dream rounded out the first round with Australian Nyadiew Puoch.
While twelve players saw their first-round dreams come true at the WNBA Draft 2024. the spotlight was firmly on Caitlin Clark. “I’m excited to get there. I’m excited to get to Indianapolis,” she said.
Despite the predictability of her selection, Fever fans flocked to celebrate Clark’s arrival. Fever coach Christie Sides praised Clark talents, saying. I have never seen a more naturally gifted basketball player enter the WNBA from the college level than Caitlin. Sides highlighted Clark impressive shooting and passing skills and her ability to elevate her teammates.
Clark is about to attract interest to the Fever, with even informal basketball lovers keeping a close eye on Indiana games. The Fever will play their first preseason game on May three towards the Dallas Wings in Arlington, Texas. Their everyday-season opener could be on May 14, when they visit the Connecticut Sun at Mohegan Sun Arena. Indiana home opener is days later at Gainbridge Fieldhouse against the New York Liberty.

Last season, the Fever struggled, finishing remaining within the Eastern Conference with a thirteen-27 report. However, Clark’s arrival has already made Indiana’s games a have to-watch.
