Wimbledon 2024 Schedule: Semifinals & How to Watch
Two-time Wimbledon champion Andy Murray has announced that he will not be competing in singles at this year’s tournament. Murray, who has been recovering from back surgery. Had hoped to be ready for his first-round match against Tomas Machac on Tuesday. However, with the Wimbledon 2024 schedule approaching quickly, he has ultimately decided to withdraw.

In a statement from his representatives. Murray decided to withdraw after putting in significant effort to recover in time. With the Wimbledon 2024 schedule fast approaching, the statement read. “Unfortunately, despite working incredibly hard on his recovery since his operation just over a week ago. Andy has taken the very difficult decision not to play the singles this year.”
Although disappointed, Murray has confirmed that he will still compete in the doubles event alongside his brother, Jamie Murray. This will be Andy’s final appearance at Wimbledon. Making the doubles event an emotional and significant moment for the British tennis star.

With Murray out of the singles draw, British No. 1 Jack Draper will take his spot on Centre Court. Draper will face Elias Ymer as he begins his quest for the title.
In other British hopes, Katie Boulter and Cameron Norrie will be in action on Court 3, while Dan Evans will compete on Court 12.
Tuesday’s order of play features several exciting matches. On Centre Court, Jessica Bouzas Maneiro will face Marketa Vondrousova, followed by Novak Djokovic taking on Vit Kopriva. Jack Draper will then battle Elias Ymer in the final match of the day.

Over on Court One, No. 4 seed Elena Rybakina will go up against Elena-Gabriela Ruse. This will be followed by Alexander Zverev’s match against Roberto Carballes Baena, and the world No. 1, Iga Swiatek, will take on Sofia Kenin.
Fans on Court Two will be treated to a match between Jessica Pegula and Ashlyn Krueger, as well as Andrey Rublev’s clash with Francisco Comesana. Ons Jabeur will also be competing against Moyuka Uchijima.
