Titans Sign Jamal Adams for Stronger Defense

Jamal Adams drafted sixth by the New York Jets in 2017 quickly made a name for himself. The NFL by 2019 he had earned All honors showcasing his prowess on the field. 

However after three years with the Jamal Adams was traded. The Seattle Sea hawks seen as pivotal. Seattle which traded away two first round picks in 2020 to acquire him.

Seattle’s investment in Adams reflected their belief that he could be the missing link in their defense. After his first season. The Sea hawks they solidified their commitment by signing him to a lucrative four year contract worth potentially $70 million.

Despite high expectations Adams was released by the Sea hawks in March marking a notable turn in his career.

Jamal Adams faced significant setbacks due to injuries during his time with the Seattle Sea hawks. This injury sidelined him for over a year limiting his playing time upon his return.

Despite having two years remaining on his contract with Seattle Adams no longer had guaranteed money prompting his departure from the team.

His release marks a significant change for the Sea hawks and opens up new opportunities. The Tennessee Titans who are actively reshaping their secondary under General Manager Ran Carton.

Carton has been proactive in bolstering the Titans defensive backfield making strategic moves like acquiring standout corner back LaJarius Need from the Chiefs and signing free agent Chide Awuzie. 

These moves are part of a broader strategy to strengthen. Titans defense and position them competitively in the upcoming season.

Joining the Tennessee Titans presents Jamal Adams with a familiar face. In Dennard Wilson  now the team’s defensive coordinator who previously coached him in the New York Jets’ defensive backs unit. 

This reunion promises continuity and a shared understanding of Adams strengths and playing style  setting the stage for a productive partnership in Tennessee defense.

Adams brings an impressive track record to the Titans showcasing his versatility and impact on the field since entering the NFL in 2017. In 80 starts he has amassed 494 tackles 1/2 sacks and four interceptions including a memorable touchdown return. 

His defensive prowess extends to 36 passes defensed 50 tackles for loss seven forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries. Notably Adams sack total as a defensive back since 2017 is unmatched across the league underscoring his unique ability to disrupt opposing offenses.

His addition to the Titans not only strengthens their defense but also aligns with their strategic vision. Under General Manager Ran Carthon, with Wilson’s coaching expertise and Adams proven performance.
