While there were undoubtedly positives to take from their performance, the ultimate prize once again eluded them.
Spain’s Dynasty Continues
Spain, on the other hand, have cemented their status as one of the greatest international teams of all time. Their possession-based style of play was once again on full display, and they proved to be too strong for England on the day. With a fourth European Championship title in their trophy cabinet, Spain will be looking to build on this success and challenge for the World Cup in 2026.
