Kingston's mother was arrested after a police raid at the singer's home

Early on a Thursday morning, police officers from Broward Sheriff’s Office and SWAT teams from Davie Police arrived at a really big house in Southwest Ranches. This house rented by the famous singer Sean Kingston. They had a piece of paper called a search warrant, which is like permission from a judge to look around the house.

They were looking for something important, so they needed to search everywhere. Sean Kingston mother was there when the police came. The officers took her into custody, which means they took her with them. They were searching the house for clues or evidence about something they were investigating.

This whole thing was a big deal, with lots of police and even a SWAT team. It must have been pretty serious for them to come with all that. The mansion was on Southwest 178th Avenue, and people could see the police and SWAT team outside.

After the police finished searching Sean Kingston rented mansion, they found out that the person they took into custody was actually his mom, Janice Turner. She’s 61 years old.

The police said she accused of doing some really bad stuff like fraud. Which means lying or cheating to get money or things, and theft, which means taking things that don’t belong to her.

Now she’s in the main jail in Broward County, which is where people go when they’re in trouble with the law. They said she has to pay $160,000 if she wants to get out of jail while she waits for her trial. This called a bond, and it’s like a promise that she’ll come back to court when she’s supposed to.

An attorney says the police visit linked to a case he filed against Kingston. Kingston supposedly didn’t pay for things he bough, like a massive 232-inch TV that he showed off in a picture.

According to lawyer Dennis Card, he enjoys flashy things, showing them off, and being a performer. My client has a really expensive TV sound system worth $150,000, about $1 million worth of watches, and an $80,000 custom-made bed in his possession. Card claims this is all part of a planned, deliberate scam.

Kingston, who is 34 years old, gained fame with some major hits, including his first single “Beautiful Girls” released in 2007. He worked with other famous artists like Justin Bieber and Soulja Boy in the past.

According to attorney Dennis Card, Kingston follows a particular plan. He claims to have connections with Justin Bieber and creates an extravagant image, especially in places like his rental mansion.

However, this mansion not owned by him. Card alleges that Kingston uses his celebrity status to persuade people to provide goods and services without paying for them. Then, he allegedly never follows through with payment.

During the raid on Thursday, a row of expensive cars spotted parked outside the mansion. Which has seven bedrooms and covers an impressive 15,000 square feet. Property records indicate that the mansion last sold for $2.25 million in 2021.

According to attorney Dennis Card, Sean Kingston is undoubtedly a scammer. Currently, he’s under felony probation for being involved in trafficking stolen goods.

Additionally, there are legal judgments against him for acquiring over $1 million worth of watches without paying for them. Card describes this behavior as a consistent pattern for Sean.

Card also implicates Kingston’s mother in his alleged schemes. He claims she is aware of what’s happening and is complicit in his actions.

Authorities have not confirmed whether Kingston, who is reportedly out of town, will face any charges related to the raid. NBC6 was attempting to contact Kingston’s attorney for comment.

Following the news of the raid, Kingston posted on Instagram on Thursday.

Federal court documents revealed that Turner pleaded guilty in January 2006 to four charges of filing false loan applications and one count of bank fraud, relating to $132,000 in stolen funds. She was instructed to repay the stolen amount.

As a consequence, Turner received a sentence of sixteen months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release.

In May 2011, Kingston encountered significant injuries when the personal watercraft he was operating collided with the bridge linking Palm Island and the MacArthur Causeway.
