Noah Lyles is used to being in the spotlight for controversial reasons. After winning the 2023 World Championships, he sparked debate with his comment about the NBA Finals. Recently, Lyles was invited by Adidas to attend Anthony Edwards’ shoe release event. However, he didn’t seem interested and was quoted expressing his reluctance in TIME Magazine.

Noah Lyles questioned why he would be invited to an event for Anthony Edwards, who hasn’t been to the NBA Finals, especially when Lyles feels the sport doesn’t get much attention. While he respects Edwards as a great athlete, Lyles wondered why the same recognition wasn’t given to him.

Noah Lyles responded on X to the criticism he received after his comment about Anthony Edwards. He clarified that he missed the shoe release event not because he thinks Edwards didn’t deserve it, but because he was too busy with other commitments. Lyles praised Edwards as an amazing player.

Noah Lyles, 27, recently ran the 100 meters in 9.79 seconds to win gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics. He also earned a bronze medal in the 200 meters despite being sick with COVID-19. Before his races at the Stade de France, he was seen jumping and getting pumped up, which led to criticism because he was already positive for COVID-19 at the time.

Noah Lyles explained that his jumping and movements helped him stay focused and ready for his race. He said that without doing this, he wouldn’t have been able to get excited and motivate himself. He used these actions to trick his mind and body into performing well, just like any other day.

Noah Lyles pulled out of the 4x100m relay at the Paris Olympics due to being sick. His teammates, Christian Coleman and Kenny Bednarek, had a bad baton exchange, which caused the team to be disqualified.
