Mexico vs Brazil: Brazil Wins With Last-Minute Goal

Mexico faced another difficult loss just days before the 2024 Copa América. After a 4-0 defeat by Uruguay under Marcelo Bielsa, Mexico suffered another setback in the Mexico vs Brazil match. In a friendly at Kyle Field in Texas, Brazil edged out Mexico with a 3-2 victory, adding to Mexico’s recent struggles.

In the match against Uruguay, Mexico’s coach, Jaime Lozano, tested reserve players, leading to a tough 4-0 loss. The team struggled with less experience on the field.

Gabriel Martinelli delivered any other goal within the 54th minute, setting Brazil up 2-0. Mexico, but, fought returned with Julián Quiñones scoring inside the 73rd minute and Guillermo Martinez equalizing in the 90 2 minutes.

Just whilst it looked at the sport that could result in a draw, Brazil’s Endrick scored within the 95th minute, securing a three-2 victory for the five-time World Cup champions. It turned into a thrilling suit with late drama that left Mexico disappointed.

Brazil fielded a strong team with many players expected to be in their starting lineup. Mexico also played with a squad that is likely to represent them in the upcoming Copa América, making this match a key test for both teams.

Brazil Takes Early Lead

Less than five minutes into the match, Brazil took the lead with a swift play. Andrés Pereira broke through two Mexican defenders and fired a powerful shot past Julio González from the edge of the box.

After the goal, Brazil slowed the pace, controlling possession. Despite Mexico starting with the Gimenez-Quiñones duo, they couldn’t find an equalizer in the first half.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with Brazil outpacing Mexico, especially in midfield, where the Aztec squad frequently lost possession. In a fast break, Martinelli took the ball down the flank and scored Brazil’s second goal, dealing a heavy blow to Jaime Lozano’s team.

Mexico Responds Late but Falls Short

Mexico finally responded with a goal from Julián Quiñones after Antuna set up Alexis Vega for a cross. They gained momentum, with Guillermo Martínez scoring in stoppage time, thrilling the fans in Texas.

However, Brazil’s experience and star power prevailed. In the final moments, Endrick headed in a cross from the left, beating Julio González and securing Brazil’s victory.
