With less than two weeks left in the 2024 WNBA regular season, seven teams, including the Las Vegas Aces standings, have clinched playoff spots. The Dallas Wings and Los Angeles Sparks are out, leaving the Chicago Sky, Atlanta Dream, and Washington Mystics to battle for the final spot.

Recent games saw the Sky eliminate the Wings, the Sun stay in the race for the No. 2 seed, and the Las Vegas Aces standings remain strong. The playoffs will use a bracket format, with best-of-three series in the first round and best-of-five in the semifinals and finals.

  1. Las Vegas Aces (22-12)

Tiebreakers:

  • Against Sun: 2-0
  • Against Lynx: 1-3
  • Against Storm: 2-1

The Aces had won four straight games before losing to the Liberty, missing MVP candidate A’ja Wilson from an ankle injury. While Wilson’s injury isn’t expected to be long-term, her absence could make it challenging for the Aces to stay in fourth place.

Key remaining games:

  • vs. Sun on Sept. 15
  • at Storm on Sept. 17

Chicago Sky (13-22)

Tiebreakers:

  • Against Dream: 2-1
  • Against Mystics: 1-2

Even without Angel Reese, who is out for the season with a wrist injury, the Chicago Sky had one of their best games of the year to eliminate the Wings from playoff contention. They have won two straight games and are currently ahead of the Dream by one game for the final playoff spot.

Key remaining games:

  • vs. Mystics on Sept. 11
  • at Dream on Sept. 17
