Fans Roast Caitlin Clark $2,000 Game-Day Fashion Fail
Caitlin Clark made history in the WNBA by becoming the fastest player ever to reach 500 points and 200 assists, doing it in just 29 games. But Sunday wasn’t all good news for the Indiana Fever star as Caitlin Clark roast for her fashion. Not only did her team lose to the Minnesota Lynx, but her game-day outfit also stirred up some drama among fans.
Clark, the top pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, is currently leading the race for Rookie of the Year. Despite the loss to the Lynx, she still had an impressive game with 23 points, eight assists, and five rebounds. This proves she’s a key player for the Fever this season.
Though Clark isn’t known for being a fashion trendsetter like her rival Angel Reese, she has received some compliments for her style. But the outfit she wore on Sunday against Minnesota didn’t go over well, with fans criticizing it heavily on social media.
Was Caitlin’s Outfit That Bad?
Clark showed up to the game wearing a Golden Lauren Wool Gabardine Boyfriend Tuxedo Jacket by Golden Goose. A strapless Dean Compact Knit Bra, and Trish Low Rise Embellished Baggy Jeans by Alice + Olivia—all in black.
Fashion experts estimated the total cost of the outfit to be around $2,000. However, Caitlin Clark fans roast and were not impressed and quickly bashed the Fever guard’s fashion choice.
A popular post on social media, originally by Hater Report, said, “Caitlin Clark fits be havin’ me cryin’,” which led to a lot of comments like, “Looks like something Kyle Kuzma would wear,” “She needs to fire her stylist,” “This was a designer fit in 2005,” and “She’s a long way from those cornfields; give her some time.”
Not All Reactions Were Negative
As with most things, opinions varied. While some fans hated her look, others loved it. One user on X (formerly Twitter) commented, “She (or someone) does a nice job with her attire. She looks both sexy and classy. That combo doesn’t always work.
Another fan even called her the best-dressed player in the WNBA, and others agreed. “She is. Who’s better than her?” one fan wrote, while another added, “I’m not sure about that, but this outfit slays.”
Fashion is always subjective—what one person loves, another might hate. Caitlin Clark’s outfit is just the latest example of this. But no matter what, one thing is certain: the WNBA star always gets noticed.
