Svitolina then won the last 11 points of the set, taking it 6-3 and gaining the upper hand.

Svitolina’s aggressive play diminished in the second set, as she adopted a more defensive approach. Gauff seized this opportunity, breaking Svitolina for a 4-2 lead and energizing the subdued crowd. Gauff kept her momentum, closing out the second set 6-3 to level the match.

Looking to rebound from recent disappointing performances, Gauff brought her best game to the deciding set. She broke Svitolina early and engaged in a grueling 37-shot rally, which she won to extend her lead to 2-0. Gauff continued to dominate, building a double-break advantage at 4-1.

Although she faltered while serving for the match, squandering a 40-love lead and giving Svitolina a brief lifeline, Gauff quickly recovered. She broke Svitolina at love in the next game, clinching victory when Svitolina netted a forehand, securing her spot in the next round.
