Carlos Alcaraz made history by winning the 2024 French Open men's singles final.

The 21 year old tennis star Carlos Alcaraz from Spain ranked No. 3 clinched his first French open title and third major championship by defeating No. 4 seed Alexander Zverev. The match lasted 4 hours and 19 minutes and ended with scores of 6-3, 2-6, 5-7, 6-1 and 6-2.

Notably he also triumphed in a five set semifinal against the newly crowned world No. 1 Jannik Sinner. With this win he made history as the youngest man ever to win a major tournament on all three different court surfaces.

Alcaraz was the top pick for betters before the tournament began and his odds only improved. When Novak Djokovic pulled out due to a knee injury. However Djokovic hold the record for the major wins among men with 24 followed by Nadal with 22. Remarkably Alcaraz’s three major wins put him ahead of every other player born in the 1990s in terms of major titles.

With the first set was hanging in the balance Alcaraz continued to showcase his skills by closing it out with another impressive forehand winner. That left Zverev unable to retrieve the ball by securing the set in his favor.

In the second set Zverev managed to find his rhythm and broke Alcaraz’s serve multiple times. He eventually sealed the set on his own serve with a powerful forehand winner that landed in an open area of the court.

However Alcaraz was not ready to give up in the third set. He showed his determination by breaking Zverev’s serve without concede a single point to go up 4-2. The moment of victory was evident as Carlos Alcaraz pumped his fist towards his supporters in the stands.

As Alcaraz was Leading 4-1 in the fourth set, he decided to take a medical timeout. He received treatment on his left leg from the ATP trainer. Who also had a consultation with regarding his condition.
