Why Lauri Peterson delayed grief of Real Housewives Star’s Son Josh Waring ‘s Death for a week?

Lauri Peterson, who used to be on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Orange County, is sad because her son Josh Waring died at age of 35.

Lauri Peterson, from Real Housewives of Orange County, shared a sad message on social media. She said her son, who was 35, passed away on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024.

“It is with a shattered heart that I write this post to let you know that my sweet Josh left this earth Easter Sunday” Peterson shared on Instagram. “No one can ever prepare you for this feeling of such deep loss. Every fiber in my body hurts. Josh fought every single day for most of his adult life for his life but this past Sunday the challenge was too great.”

Peterson also remembered Josh’s childhood, which was full of intelligence, humor, sports. He also liked outdoor adventures like snowboarding and hiking, reading, friendships, and a passion for music. Even when facing tough times as an adult, Josh kept his sense of humor, stayed hopeful. He always showed kindness to others, and stood up for those who needed help. He deeply loved his family throughout it all.

Reflecting on Josh’s role as a father, the former Bravo star shared that his daughter Kennady brought him immense joy, pride, and purpose. He loved watching her grow and thrive over the years.

Peterson, along with her husband George Peterson, adopted her granddaughter over a decade ago when she was just a baby. They didn’t say what caused Waring’s death. Starting in 2006, “The Real Housewives of Orange County” showcased his struggles with drug addiction and legal problems for many years. Lauri Peterson was last on the show in 2013.

Waring spent time in prison multiple times. In 2020, he got out after four years for pleading guilty to assault with a firearm and leading police on a chase. In 2016, he initially faced attempted murder charges for shooting a man outside a sober living home.

Further, in 2022, he pleaded guilty to drug charges and got a two-year prison sentence. He didn’t report to his probation officer a few months ago, and a warrant was issued for his arrest in January. Then, in February, he was arrested for allegedly punching a hospital security guard. He got released from jail in March.

Lauri Peterson expressed gratitude to those who supported Josh. She also thanked those who shared their own struggles with substance abuse and loss. In addition to his mom and daughter, Josh is survived by sisters Ashley and Sophie.

Josh’s childhood was marked by brilliance, humor, adventurous escapades, and a love for various activities like snowboarding, bodyboarding, and mountain hikes. Despite facing hardships in adulthood, he never lost his sense of humor, his optimism, or his compassion for others. He stood up for those who couldn’t defend themselves and cherished his family immensely. His greatest source of joy and purpose was his daughter Kennady, whom he adored watching grow and flourish.

I extend my deepest gratitude to all those who tried to support Josh along his journey. I’ve witnessed countless acts of kindness from earthly angels. Substance abuse disorder is a battle many don’t understand, but I’m forever thankful for those who showed compassion and made a difference in Josh’s life. To those who have supported me during this trying time and shared their own experiences with substance abuse disorder or the loss of loved ones to this illness, your kindness means the world to me.
