Aaron Williams, a Redding resident and esteemed freelance journalist renowned for his insightful contributions to the Record Searchlight. Which provided captivating details of his encounter with the auroras.

As he traversed Highway 299 beyond Old Shasta, he observed a delicate pink tinge adorning the night sky. Intriguingly, this gentle hue intensified with every mile, casting an ethereal glow that mesmerized onlookers. Aaron Williams had the privilege of witnessing the auroras from the serene shores of Whiskeytown Lake. Which located approximately 10 miles to the west of Redding.
